Cherie and I attended the annual East Coast Xterra Challenge, or ECXC for short, this weekend at Rausch Creek Off Road Park in Pennsylvania. As always we found ourselves surrounded by good friends and had a good time all weekend long.
We started the weekend rolling into Twin Grove Campground in nearby Pine Grove. We had decided to camp and sure enough, most of the campsites around us were friends also attending the event!
Saturday morning we headed over to Rausch Creek. After registration and obligatory group pictures the groups headed out. We chose to be in a blue group this year. Overall our group managed to avoid much trail carnage which was nice. Rob managed to get a flat but we realized it as we were stopping for lunch. We offered some help while eating, but made quick work of the tire change.
This was one of our first outings to get to try the new GoPro. We had fun capturing footage with the GoPro mounted on my isolation mount and controlling it through the bluetooth app connected to my dash mounted tablet. Overall the equipment worked great and I’m pretty happy with the highlight video I was able to put together.
Saturday night was an even larger social gathering than Friday night had been. The stories around the fire of the days excitement carried on late into the night. It felt like a quick weekend trip though, and Sunday morning came too soon. As always I look forward to next years event!
